the evolution of a doodle

i have been working on a drawing, a doodle, for the last three days. i spent almost all day on it for each of the three days.  i’m going to show you the various steps, in order, that led to the finished drawing.

first, the bare bones line art. i made the circles with a stencil and did the rest freehand.
